NFL Week 17 Preview: Chris Johnson Eyes 2,000 yards
We’re in the final week of the 2009 NFL regular season, and before we turn the fortunes of the 2009 portion into the hands of 2010 and the next decade, we still have one last glance at some special moments in Week 17. We’ve seen some interesting things, some scary things, and some shocking things [...]
Kevin Roberts’ NFL Power Rankings Week 17
We learned a few things in Week 16. The New Orleans Saints didn’t just trip up against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 15. They got exposed, and quite clearly, in a big way. If the Tampa Bay Buccaneers can sneak by them, the question is begging to be asked, “Who can’t?”. Speaking of former unbeaten [...]
Kevin Roberts’ Week 16 NFL Power Rankings
Irony, it appears, is not lost in the NFL. The team that was openly vocal about aiming for a 16-0 season, the New Orleans Saints, was handed it’s first loss in Week 15, while the team that was quiet and disciplined, the Indianapolis Colts, continued it’s march for perfection. While the top two spots remain [...]
Don’t Kill the Messenger: Week 15 Fantasy Start & Sit Review
After two questionable weeks in our Fantasy Football Start/Sit Column, we’ve finally turned it around (just as we promised) and delivered a solid record in our player picks for Week 15. And we weren’t just a “little” right this week, folks. We hit it big with Tony Romo and Joe Flacco as starts, as well [...]
State Of The Vikings: All Is Well In Minnesota
The title (as most are) can be deceiving. “All” may not be well in Minnesota. After all, the Vikings are coming off of two ugly road losses in their past three games, both of which their offense has failed top 17 points, and has executed extremely poorly on third downs. But aside from that, yes, [...]
Matt Gentile’s Week 15 NFL Power Rankings
1. New Orleans Saints (13-0) They pulled the baby out of the fire the last two weeks, but New Orleans is doing the right thing by keeping their starters in the rest of the way and trying for 16-0. 2. Indianapolis Colts (13-0) Many experts are saying Indianapolis will sit their starters now that they’re [...]
Bengals WR Chris Henry dies
Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry died this morning of complications from injuries sustained following a domestic dispute with his fiance. Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said Henry died at 6:36 a.m. this morning. He was 26 years-old. According to the police, Henry jumped into the bed of the pickup truck as a woman was driving away. Shortly [...]
Pittsburgh Steelers Are Down, But Are They Out?
The mighty Pittsburgh Steelers, last year’s Super Bowl champions, and the NFL leader in total Super Bowls claimed, have fallen. They’ve lost five straight games after rebounding from a 1-2 start to get to 6-2, and furthered their fall from grace (and embarrassment) by allowing the 2-11 Cleveland Browns to beat them at their own [...]
2009 AFC Playoff Picture: Week 15
It’s Week 15 in the NFL, and while we still have three weeks to figure out who fits where, which teams are pretenders, and which are the actual contenders, tight races in both conferences deserve a look before everything is all wrapped up. Before we get started, bow your head in dismay if you are [...]
NFL Fantasy Start and Sit Week 15: Go With Romo
We had a poor week for the second straight week in our fantasy football Start/Sit column, while negatively impacted by Rock Cartwright’s status changing in the middle of the week, while four of our five sleepers were ether complete non-factors, or suffered an injury. We vow to end Week 15 with a winning record in [...]
