With the exception of the 49ers, the teams picking 25-32 are already playoff contenders with, for the most part, few major needs.

For several of the teams picking 17th through 24th, last season ended early in the playoffs or just shy, so the first round of the draft presents the opportunity to nab a player at a key position that will help them turn 2007’s disappointments into celebrations in 2008.

Yesterday, I analyzed the options that teams with picks 1-8 in the upcoming NFL Draft have, and what talented prospects they’re most likely to pin their hopes and dreams on.
