Good stuff Kevin!

Unless he's thinking about a one-year, midlevel exemption deal, there is no way the Bulls should even think about signing Allen Iverson. It's obvious they want to have $25 million in available cap space for the summer of 2010, and signing Iverson to even a two or three year deal would crush any hopes of landing a superstar in his prime that summer (i.e. Chris Bosh, Amare Stoudemire, or Dwyane Wade).

It sounds like Iverson is heading to Memphis. He might put some butts in the seats, but with a young O.J. Mayo and Rudy Gay, Iverson would hurt their development with his "black hole" syndrome on offense.

Thanks for pointing that out. I was working a little quickly, and I got caught up on thinking about that 2006 season and got that one and the 2005 season mixed up. Certainly was indeed a travesty that he didn't win it in 2006 - he could very well have three or four MVP awards already, but I think he'll more than make up for that over the next few seasons if he keeps it up.

Nice article but, you should know that Albert did not actually win the MVP in 2006 when he hit 49 HRs and 137 RBIs. Ryan Howard got the MVP that year, which was a travesty. Albert won his 1st MVP in 2005 beating out Derek Lee and Andruw Jones.

It's crazy that Yaz's Triple Crown numbers in 1967 would likely not lead the league in any triple crown categories in today's game. Seems like every year, someone hits 50+ HR's and has almost 150 RBI's. Guys like Ryan Howard and Prince Fielder certainly make it difficult. And for BA, last year he hit .357 and still didn't lead the league.

The thing I like about Pujols chances this year are that he's getting the HR's and RBI's. BA has been his most consistent statistic; he is the current career leader among actives. I'd say he has a 20% chance of winning the Triple Crown, which is actually pretty good odds.

Actually, he was just voted into the Hall of Fame this past January. That was another move that was long overdue as well.

What are we, 16 years old? Grow up and get with it; there are more women--ladies, even--keeping up with the NFL and their favorite teams these days who don't want to read drivel from "sports" writers who can't publish fewer than 400 words without proving they can't think above the waist.

yep - he just wants to play. spoken like a childless parent. i suppose you think its ok when a tantrum is thrown that you need to give in ? in most books a tantrum is NOT rewarded. lets stick it to ted for making him a millionair, lets stick it to ted for making him successful. football is a business and alledgedly these players are supposed be folks that everyone should look up to. good grief where does the drama end ? i suppose that if everyone had a vendetta the nfl would have to fold because it would be ridden with steroid mongers and criminals. i agree... just let him play !!!! hahhahhah
