Big Ben Considering Sitting Out Sunday’s Game
Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is contemplating sitting out Pittsburgh’s game against the Baltimore Ravens, despite being cleared to play and practicing all week.
Roethlisberger is just taking the necessary precautions, and considering the bad luck Brian Westbrook and Clinton Portis are having this year with head injuries, he’s probably wise to be doing so.
Most experts are still banking on Big Ben suiting up this week, as their match with the Ravens has serious playoff implications, and we’d have to agree.
Cedric Benson Reportedly “Ready” to Play Against Browns
Head coach Marvin Lewis had admitted that Benson is near full health and could easily play in Week 12 against the lowly Browns, but in a game Cincinnati is expected to win handily, the teams is contemplating letting Benson rest.
Benson will be roaring to go, but with decent depth at running back and the showing that Bernard Scott had last week, there’s a strong chance that Benson sits for the second straight week.
Even if Benson doe suit up, we like Scott as an elite Flex play.
Steve Jackson Iffy For Week 12
Jackson has reportedly missed three consecutive days of practice, and could be in danger of missing Week 12’s match with the Seattle Seahawks.
He’s been dealing with a back injury, and even though his coaches have hinted that he has a solid chance of playing despite not practicing, his official status won’t be known until just before kickoff.
Kurt Warner Listed as Questionable
Warner has practiced all week, including a full Friday practice, and appears to be a full go for Sunday’s match-up against the Tennessee Titans.
Despite a still slightly sore neck for Warner, we like him to make the start as the usual quality QB1 he’s been this season.
Michael Turner Questionable For Sunday
This is definitely a situation to monitor, as Turner has reportedly been feeling a lot better, and his return would kill current starts Jason Snelling’s value.
Regardless, Turner has a high ankle sprain, which is not easy to come back quickly from, and he hasn’t practiced all week. Monitor this situation closely if you own either of the Falcons’ running backs.
Julius Jones to be a Game-time Decision
Jones is still nursing his injured ribs and apparently even has a bruised lung. Head coach Jim Mora made an ambitious prediction that Jones would be ready to play this week, but with Justin Forsett playing so well the past two weeks, there’s really no need to rush him back.
Jones will ultimately be a game-time decision this week, and we suggest starting Forsett over Jones if you have the option.
Brandon Pettigrew Lost For Season
Lions’ rookie right end Brandon Pettigrew is reportedly done for the season after an MRI revealed damage ligaments in his knee.
Pettigrew’s replacements, Will Heller and Casey Fitzsimons, don’t figure to garner much fantasy interest.
