He'll likely miss another week.
Michael Turner Returns to Practice
Turner returned on a limited basis on Wednesday, but since head coach Mike Smith hasn’t given any estimate on when Turner could play in a game, it’s a safe bet he won’t start this week’s game.
Jason Snelling looked good last week, and Jerious Norwood is back to practicing fully. Expect Turner to get a second week off and return at full health in Week 13. In the mean-time, Snelling makes for a stout RB2 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Matthew Stafford Doubtful For Thursday, Megatron Questionable
Neither player practiced on Wednesday, and it’s almost a lock that Stafford will sit, although he is still considered to be a game-time decision. Even with Green Bay losing Al Harris and Aaron Kampman for the season to knee injuries, we still don’t like Daunte Culpepper’s chances if he gets the start this week.
Calvin Johnson is dealing with a couple different injuries, but has a much better chance of seeing the field than Stafford. He’s also a game-time decision, so stay updated on his status until kick-off.
Kurt Warner Expected to Face Tennessee Titans
Warner practiced, appears completely fine, and should be ready to face the Titans.
Tennessee’s pass defense is improving, but with all the weapons Warner has at his disposal, you shouldn’t be too worried this week. Start Warner as you normally would.
Ahmad Bradshaw Ruled Out For Thursday’s Game
In addition to wearing a protective boot like he does every week, Bradshaw was dealing with ailments to both of his feet/ankles. His role wasn’t great the past few weeks anyways, so adding mounting injuries to the equation wasn’t helping.
Back-up Danny Ware should take his place and look to grab 7-10 carries, but the day will belong to Brandon Jacobs, who is still waiting on his first 100-yard rushing day for 2009.
Bernard Scott to Keep Big Role
There is talk that Cedric Benson could return as early as this week, although Scott’s role with the team isn’t expected to change as much as some would think, largely due to his impressive performance last week.
If Benson plays, Scott is more likely to be used on passing downs than anything else, and would cut into Brian Leonard’s value. Benson is looking like he’ll be a game-time decision, and if we had to call it right now, we’d suggest starting Scott.
Stay tuned for more information regarding this situation.
Mike Martz to be Bears New Offensive Coordinator?
Martz has ties that go way back with head coach Love Smith, and it is believed that because of past success between the two, that Martz’s ego wouldn’t be a problem.
His pass-heavy offense would mean big numbers and a high-powered offense, and would likely make Jay Cutler a top five talent, assuming of course, that he has a better offensive line next year, as well as some better weapons.
Matt Forte could assume a Marshall Faulk-type role, but we digress, as we (and the Bears) are clearly getting ahead of ourselves.
