Brett Favre

Favre was yet again a solid play.

It was another good week for The Red Zone Report’s Start/Sit column, so if you’ve been weary of taking fantasy advice, it may be time to jump aboard this train.

Take a look at how we did in each section from Week 10, and then stay tuned for Week 11’s Start/Sit column:

Start: 3-2

Sit: 4-1

Sleeper: 4-1

Winners

, QB, (Start)

Favre didn’t tear it up with the touchdowns as we’d hoped, but he still threw a score and registered a season-high 344 passing yards. Regardless of all the late-season fade speculation, Favre remains a solid QB1 in fantasy football.

, RB, (Start)

He started slow against the but ended the day with a solid line of 20 carries for 102 yards. Look for Williams to continue his solid production with a start in this Thursday’s contest, as starter is expected to miss the game.

, TE, (Start)

Carlson finally got off the schneid with a touchdown reception and may be slowly getting back to top-10 status among tight ends. Needless to say, he made for a quality start in Week 10.

, QB, (Sit)

Ryan struggled, as predicted, against a solid Carolina pass defense, and had an even more difficult time when star running back left Sunday’s game with an ankle injury. Despite Ryan’s potential, he continues to be a fantasy disappointment in 2009.

, RB, (Sit)

The Packers found some success against the , but as expected, it had very little to do with Grant, who failed to score and racked up 78 yards rushing. The yardage wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t good enough to make him even a quality RB2 this week.

Matt Cassel, QB, (Sit)

We actually like Cassel’s potential for the remainder of the season, but he struggled against a strong Oakland Raiders pass defense as we expected, topping 200 passing yards, but failing to score, while tossing an interception.

, WR, (Sit)

Jennings continued his underwhelming play in 2009, as he failed to reach the end-zone against the Cowboys, and caught just four passes for 45 yards.

, QB, (Sleeper)

Freeman didn’t dazzle like he did in his debut, but for a sleeper and a bye week fill-in, he performed well enough to register as a “winner” this week. Nearly 200 yards, a touchdown, and just one pick made him a decent selection if you were desperate in Week 10.

, QB, (Sleeper)

Stafford is still struggling in the NFL realm, but in , he throws enough to keep your team afloat if you’re hurting for quarterback help in a bye week. Stafford threw for 224 yards and a touchdown, with no picks, to make for a decent play if needed in Week 10.

, RB,

We knew one game was too early to tell if Charles would make it or not in KC, so we vouched for him as a sleeper, and if you took the advice and ran with it, you were pleasantly surprised. Charles put up 100 yards on the ground and a touchdown, and made for a quality RB2 in all fantasy leagues on Sunday.

, WR,

Garcon emerged from ’s shadow this week to post decent yardage and a touchdown in a shoot-out against the . He served as a quality WR3 this week, and figures to be a fringe WR3 until returns.

Losers

, WR, (Start)

Austin was surprisingly very ineffective in the Cowboys’ unlikely loss to the . He only hauled in four receptions for a meager 20 yards and was a weak start for the first time in five
weeks.

, RB, (Sit)

We knew it had to happen sometime, and we should have seen it coming against the Rams. Bush rattled off a nice day with solid yardage, and chipped in two scores, making him an elite start on Sunday.

, TE,

Despite launching over 50 passes against the on Sunday, only two found their way to the hands of the rookie tight end, making him a poor sleeper call for Week 10.

, QB,

Our heart was in the right place, but Flacco’s big arm simply wasn’t needed in a 16-0 win over the hapless . This was a nice match-up, but Flacco did not do you any favors this week, as he threw for under 200 yards and no touchdowns.
