Arizona’s Boldin Out Vs. Bears
Earlier in the week, Cardinals receiver Anquan Boldin was confident about being able to take the field today at Chicago after re-injuring his right ankle last Sunday against Carolina. However, he’s going to be a spectator at Soldier Field today, as he’s on the Cardinals’ inactive list, along with linebacker Gerald Hayes, who’s out with a back injury.
Steve Breaston gets the starting nod with Boldin out, while Ali Highsmith starts in Hayes’ absence.
Bears’ Hester To Play
While Arizona will be without Boldin because of his right ankle, Devin Hester’s right ankle won’t keep him out against the Cardinals. Hester missed a couple of practices this past week, but Jay Cutler will have his leading receiver to throw to against a pass defense allowing 233 yards per game.
Moats Starts Over Slaton vs. Colts
After Ryan Moats’ monster game at Buffalo last week, it’s no surprise to see him rewarded with the starting nod today at Indianapolis.
However, even though Moats will start, you can expect Steve Slaton to still get plenty of touches…provided he doesn’t have another case of the dropsies. He best hope he doesn’t for the sake of being able to remain a vital part of the Texans’ offense, and you best hope he doesn’t if you want to
It wouldn’t have been a bad idea for Slaton owners to pick up Moats and start them both today, considering that the Texans ran for 323 yards in their two games against Indy last year, and because they’ll both see some love from Matt Schaub in the passing game.
Colts’ Brown Out Vs. Texans
Colts backup running back Donald Brown will miss his second straight game because of a banged-up shoulder. Brown practiced on Wednesday and Thursday, but he didn’t go on Friday, and he isn’t going today.
That’s a blow to the Colts, given that he would’ve been a real factor for Indy today, given that Houston’s run defense is pretty average. All the better for Joseph Addai owners though, as he could be in for a breakout day after a lackluster start to the season.
Also on the Colts’ front, rookie Jason Lacey will start for the injured Marlin Jackson at corner, and with two rookie cornerbacks starting + no Bob Sanders in the lineup, you could be in line for a big, big day if you made the smart decision of starting Schaub.
