Jets Leon Washington Done For Season
He sustained what many players claimed to be a compound fracture to his fibula, and all reports suggest he will miss the remainder of the regular season.
Rookie Shonn Greene stepped up in his absence, running for over 100 yards and two scores.
Washington should be dropped in all leagues, while Greene should take over the same role and be a dependable Flex play going forward.
Miami’s Will Allen Done For Season
Allen tore his ACL this Sunday and will miss the rest of the season.
This is a huge blow to an already struggling pass defense. Miami should feature two rookies as their starting corners down the stretch, as Sean Smith has been starting recently, and fellow rookie corner Vontae Davis could soon be joining him.
Alex Smith New Starter For San Francisco?
Not quite yet.
While it’s extremely arguable that he should be the start when the 49ers face the Colts in week eight, head coach Mike Singletary still hasn’t made a decision.
The fact that he didn’t back Shaun Hill immediately shows Smith has a solid chance of getting his old job back.
Jamarcus Russell Still Starter in Oakland
The Raiders benched him in favor of Bruce Gradkowski on Sunday, but realized their fears immediately: Gradkowski isn’t much better.
They could cut their losses and start over, but they don’t really have anyone on the team worth investing in.
If Russell can’t scrape together some meaningful efforts the rest of the way, his career in Oakland is likely over.
Raheem Morris Still Stuck on Josh Johnson
For now.
While at 0-7, it’s just about time to start seeing what rookie Josh Freeman can do, one has to wonder if Johnson has any more of those throws like he had to Antonio Bryant for a touchdown, in him.
He showed flashes of solid play against a good New England defense, so it’s not a guarantee that the Buccaneers move on from him, just yet.
Monitor this situation if you own either of these players in a deep, two-quarterback league. Or if you’re just really bored.
Larry Johnson “Dogs” Todd Haley on Twitter
The aging and slow running back ripped his head coach for never playing in the NFL, while mentioning that his father and former coaches have.
It probably isn’t a great idea to smash-talk the guy who keeps you fantasy relevant with a heavy dose of carries, but Haley doesn’t have many alternatives.
Twitter has been eking it’s way into sports reports lately, and it’s getting annoying rather quickly.
Andre Johnson’s Injury Not Serious
And breathe out.
Houston was calling it a chest contusion, and with negative x-rays, the assumption is that Johnson should be good to go for week eight.
Johnson should be a go when Houston travels to Buffalo next week, where Johnson and Matt Schaub should hook-up plenty.
