Calvin Johnson Not Expected to Play in Week Six

We figured so. The makes it almost official, but the way he was hobbling around all week, it was already written on the wall.

The Lions still haven’t made a decision on quarterback , but without two of their star players, they could be in for a long day against the . Look for to have a decent line this week.

“Out” For Sunday’s Game

He was leaning toward it himself after Monday night’s game, and hinted toward missing this week’s action further in a Tuesday morning radio interview.

This will allow Cotchery to rest for almost three weeks, as the Jets have their bye in week seven.

Look for Braylon Edwards to get a lot of targets against a weak defense, while could see some major action whether or not Brad Smith sits out.

Correll Buckhlater Practices, Should Play

He’s got an extra day to rest and prepare, so he’s almost a lock to play on Monday against the . This doesn’t mean hell be starting, but it should cut into ’s carries a bit.

It still may be a good idea to sit Bucklhalter until he’s completely healthy, as his role could be fairly unpredictable this week. He still makes for a decent Flex play, however.

Pittsburgh “Mum” on Starting Running Back

Well, the good news about this is that Willie Parker is almost certainly going to play, and considering they’re going up against the Cleveland Browns, both backs make excellent Flex plays. We still think Rashard Mendenhall is a quality RB2, even with Parker’s return, but if you can, play it safe and don’t depend on these guys until you know their roles.

Seattle’s Forsett to Get More Touches?

Justin Forsett’s yardage per touch average is impressive (almost 6.6), and many are ready to label him as the best blocker of all the Seattle running backs.

Julius Jones has been very average that past two wees, and we can only expect so much out of the aging Edgerrin James. Don’t expect the world, but an increase to about 5-8 touches wouldn’t be a shock.

Jets’ Switching to Wide Receiver

The former running back and Chadron State star latched onto the ’ practice squad after a solid pre-season. With injuries to Jerricho Cotchery (Out) and Brad Smith lately, the Jets need some depth at receiver, and are opting to add it in-house.

Woodhead is probably to small and light to be an effective running back in the NFL, but his switch to receiver could be a smoother transition that many think, as he has NFL speed and athleticism, and also possesses great hands.

Look out for a possible activation and some time at receiver against the Buffalo Bills.
