NFL Quick Hits (Oct. 7th) Braylon Edwards a Jet, Michael Crabtree a 49er and more

Traded to

The Browns ridded of the under-performing Edwards for Chansi Stuckey and two draft picks. This immediately causes caution for Derek Anderson’s value, but should make Mohamed Massaquoi’s value soar.

Edwards, on the other hand, should develop into a fine down-field weapon for Mark Sanchez, but you should give him a week or so to break-in to his new team and offense.

Finally Signs With 49ers

The deal is for six years and around 36 million, but there’s no guarantee that means he’ll be a fantasy factor.

Josh Morgan, Isaac Bruce, and Vernon Davis all still have better fantasy value, and there’s no indication that Crabtree will be a major part of the offense any time soon.

Unlikely to Face Detroit

is fresh off of an awesome 120+ yard and two touchdown game, and he’s likely to come close to a repeat performance against the Detroit Lions.

Parker is still nursing his turf toe, and even when he does return, he’s likely to lose carries to Mendenhall, and possibly even his starting role.

and to Play Against Tampa Bay

McNabb has been in full-blown rest mode since week one, and should easily be ready to destroy a horrid Tampa Bay defense. Ditto for Westbrook.

You can probably throw Kevin Curtis and DeSean Jackson is as nearing full healthy, as Philly’s offense

Sits Out Wednesday Practice

He (and the team) still haven’t decided on his status for week five, but sitting him on Wednesday was a no-brainer.

Manning as got to be in a good amount of pain, and even if he goes this week, he probably won’t see an ounce of the practice field. Go with a different option, as the Giants are likely to drop-back as little as possible, even with Manning under center.

Returns to Practice

He was limited, but at least he’s on the right track. However, it’s not clear what his role will be with Cleveland’s new approach, especially with coming off of a 120+ rushing game.

Lewis will still get touches and may even start upon his return, but Harrison is clearly the better back, and should take the job down the line.

Monitor this situation closely if you’re a new Harrison owner.

Not on Injury Report

This is good news, but it isn’t earth-shattering. He played in last week’s game, but could only muster up one catch, and isn’t a sexy play in week five against the Dallas Cowboys.

Quite frankly, he’s not much better than a WR3 until Matt Cassel shows that he’s going to be a good quarterback for Todd Haley.
