Reportedly Ready For Week One

Considering he hasn’t even learned half of Josh McDaniel’s playbook, one has to wonder how “ready” Marshall truly is.

Reports have McDaniels saying Marshall has been “great” since returning from his team-given suspension, and that he is likely to have some sort of a role in Denver’s opener against the Bengals.

The Broncos need him, and even if he doesn’t know all the plays, Marshall is still too talented to not make some sort of an impact against a sketchy secondary like Cincy’s.

Play him as a WR3 and you won’t be disappointed.

StarCaps Players Now Available For Week One

All that fuss about suspensions and drugs, and none of the guys originally on the list are missing any action.

That means the Vikings will have their front four intact, with the “Williams Wall” starting the season, while the Saints will be at full force, and Detroit will have available.

This is bad news for the ground game of Cleveland and Detroit.

Practices Without Any Issues

There had been minimal concern over Orton’s finger injury, but after a complete practice without any problems, he appears a “go” for Sunday’s action against the Bengals.

He practiced with a glove and most likely will play in the game with it, as well. There were no reported limitations during the practice, making the glove a non-issue.

Now, if only Orton could positively bank on Brandon Marshall knowing his role in the offense.

Self-Proclaims Readiness for Week One

There wasn’t any major concern as to whether he’d play or not, but hearing it straight from the horse’s mouth always eases the masses.

Still, without a defined role and a definite RBBC approach, Moreno’s value is probably best suited for a Flex spot, or for a roster in dire need of RB2 help.

Houston’s “Iffy” For Game Against Jets

Walter is already a fairly inconsistent fantasy performer, so take the safe route and sit him in week one.

His potential for 2009, especially with a healthy Matt Schaub, is solid, but his hamstring injury is something that could linger, so it wouldn’t be a shocked if he didn’t play at all.

Buffalo Bills Waive Starting Left Tackle

First their offensive coordinator, and now this?

The Bills cut ties with Langston Walker after one of their “project” tackles, Demetrius Bell finally displayed enough ability to take a chance on him.

Bell was supposedly pushing for the starting job throughout pre-season, but Dick Jauron and co. weren’t ready to pull the trigger until this week.

The Bills line and overall offense figures to have a tough time against New England on Monday night, regardless of whether or not it’s in as much shambles as it appears to be.

Dolphins to Use Rotation at Second Receiver Spot

is the number one, while and will rotate in and out at the second spot.

For the most part, Miami is likely to have Bess on the outside and Camarillo working his more natural position, the slot.

Rookie Brian Hartline is unofficially the fourth receiver, but also could see some limited action at both the two and the three.

Camarillo is still recovering from knee surgery, and isn’t a safe bet for starters reps in the early going.

Odds and Ends

is officially the back-up to Matt Schaub in Houston, which actually gives him decent value in deep leagues or dual-quarterback leagues. Schaub is fragile as glass, so the athletic and strong-armed Grossman has potential to play a few games this year.

More rumors out of Dallas, both from the Dallas Morning News and head coach Wade Philips, suggest a backfield shared between and . It’s all just words at this point, but neither player had full-fledged starter written on them to begin the season, anyways.
If Jones is still not on a roster in your league, grab him.

NFL.com’s Jason La Canfora believes Matt Cassel will make the start against Baltimore this week. That’s great for Kansas City (maybe), but make sure he’s still on your bench.
