We’re through one quarter of the national championship game, and with all of the hype that the offenses got coming into the game, I doubt many people would have expected to see a scoreless tie after the first 15 minutes.

Even though no one’s gotten on the scoreboard yet, both teams have moved the ball some, and as the second quarter gets set to start, is approaching the red zone.

I imagine Manuel Johnson is still shaking off the cobwebs from the vicious hit that he was on the receiving end of from Major Wright. There’s a good chance that one will make SportsCenter’s Top 10 tonight, along with a few more plays from tonight’s game.

Florida’s defense was the X factor for me in them getting to this point, and though has had time to throw on a few occasions, including one when he hit Jermaine Gresham for a big gain into the Florida red zone that was negated by a holding penalty, the Gators have done a good job of getting pressure and penetrating what’s supposed to be done of the best offensive lines in the country.

In the end, I’m pretty sure that Bradford will still end up throwing it enough to end up with pretty good numbers across the board, but if Florida’s defensive line can keep on getting in the backfield on a regular basis, they’ll slow down ’s running game, and they’ll prevent Bradford from doing all that he can do when he has all the time in the world. Now if the offensive line starts to shape up, then it’ll open things up and allow the Sooners’ offense to have its way.

’s interception on the first drive was just asking for it, as he laid it out there in the flat for Nic Harris to pick off. But, he just made it up for it by hitting for the game’s first touchdown early in the second. Is this where the fireworks start? Let’s hope so.
