If you are still alive in your fantasy playoffs, it’s most likely because you didn’t listen to me last week. But this week feels like a winner. Going into the semi-finals, the pressure increases so you need my help now more than ever. Let’s look at last week’s picks, keeping in mind that I was working under the assumption the Domenik Hixon could catch.
Time to Shine:
QB Gus Frerotte, Minnesota: I feel like I just head-butted a wall. Miss.
RB Sammy Morris, New England: Tough call. Only half the yards I thought, but did get a score. Let’s call it a push.
WR Domenik Hixon, New York Giants: Had a long touchdown pass go right through his hands. Better than a bullet going right through your leg, but still a miss.
Ride the Pine:
QB Tony Romo, Dallas: 210 yards, one score, three picks. Tough day all around. Hit.
RB Clinton Portis, Washington: When the third leading rusher in the conference only gets 11 carries, something’s wrong. Hit.
WR Dwayne Bowe, Kansas City: No touchdown, but 96 yards prevents the day from being a complete loss. Miss.
Week 14 Totals: 2-3-1
Overall Totals: 59-63-7
On to this week’s picks:
Time to Shine:
QB Shaun Hill, San Francisco: Who has two touchdown passes in 4 of his last five games? Whose team is playing inspired football right about now? Who goes up against the 21st rated pass defense in the league? If you said Shaun Hill, you either know a lot about football or are able to read the first line of this paragraph. In any case, Hill should be good for another 2 scores and 220 yards.
RB Dominick Rhodes, Indy: Recent word is that Joseph Addai might not play this weekend. If that’s the case, someone will get all those yards that Detroit is good enough to allow week in and week out. Rhodes will go for 80 and a score.
WR Steve Breaston, Arizona: Breaston has had three solid fantasy weeks in a row and against weak Minnesota pass defense, he should have a field day. 80 yards and a score is not out of the question.
Ride the Pine:
QB Matt Ryan, Atlanta: While Ryan has had a great rookie season, his first outing against the Bucs was, by far, his worst outing of the season. Confidence can be a funny thing with quarterbacks and something tells me Ryan’s will be shaken on Sunday.
RB Marshawn Lynch, Buffalo: The wheels have officially come off the Bill bandwagon the last two weeks. Not only has the offense sputtered, but they have flat out refused to give the ball to Lynch inside the ten. Until the Bills figure out their offensive woes (which may not be till next season), I would have very little confidence in Lynch.
WR Terrell Owens, Dallas: With Cowboys backs and receivers dropping left and right, there isn’t much left to draw attention from T.O. The Giants will be playing angry and won’t let the one healthy Cowboy left beat them.
