SECOND ROUND
32. Miami Dolphins: Kentwan Balmer, DT, N. Carolina: Balmer may fall, but he won’t fall past the careful eyes of Bill Parcells.
33. St. Louis Rams: Patrick Lee, CB, Auburn: With already solidifying their porous OL in round 1, the Rams will look on the other side of the ball here. Lee lacks experience but has lots of talent.
34. Oakland Raiders: Gosder Cherilus, OT, Boston College: Cherilus can help protect the franchise QB the Raiders drafted last year. Maybe he can open up some running lanes for Fargas and company, too.
35. Kansas City Chiefs: Brandon Flowers, CB, Virginia Tech: The Chiefs need help in the aging secondary and Flowers is a great pick.
36. New York Jets: Jerod Mayo, LB, Tennessee: Horrendous Jets defense gets young impact player.
37. Atlanta Falcons: Marcus Howard, LB, Georgia: Atlanta needs help just about everywhere and Howard had a great combine to vault into the 2nd round.
38. Baltimore Ravens: Andre Woodson, QB, Kentucky: Steve McNair is 1,000 years old.
39. San Francisco 49ers: Lawrence Jackson, DE, USC: Solid end prospect is a perfect fit for defense that needs some teeth.
40. New Orleans Saints: Quentin Groves, DE, Auburn: Groves might be the best pure pass rusher in the draft.
41. Buffalo Bills: Early Doucet, WR, LSU: Doucet provides immediate impact.
42. Denver Broncos: Pat Sims, DT, Auburn: Broncos need run stopper.
43. Carolina Panthers: Thomas DeCoud, S, Cal: Panthers need safety help after Mike Minter’s retirement.
44. Chicago Bears: Kevin Smith, RB, Central Florida: After an impressive combine, Smith earns a spot in the 2nd round.
45. Detroit Lions: Ali Highsmith, LB, LSU: Lions grab a solid LB in Highsmith.
46. Cinncinnatti Bengals: Phillip Wheeler, LB, Georgia Tech: Bengals grab a talented but undersized playmaker to help with linebacking departures.
47. Minnesota Vikings: Mario Manningham, WR, Michigan: Vikings need playmakers at receiver and Manningham falls just far enough.
48. Atlanta Falcons: Trevor Laws, DT, Notre Dame: The Falcons have to draft defense after spending first 2 picks on other side of ball.
49. Philidelphia Eagles: Lavelle Hawkins, WR, California: Ah, the youth movement continues.
50. Arizona Cardinals: Jamaal Charles, RB, Texas: If Charles lasts this long, Cards would be foolish not to draft him here.
51. Washington Redskins: Antoine Cason, CB, Arizona: Carlos Rodgers is coming off of an injury.
52. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Keenan Burton, WR, Kentucky: Solid player should make things easier on Garcia.
53. Pittsburgh Steelers: Chris Johnson, RB, ECU: Steelers add speedster Johnson to stable of backs.
54. Tennessee Titans: Andre Caldwell, WR, Florida: VY gets more help and a new speedster to throw the ball to.
55. Seattle Seahawks: Martellus Bennett, Texas A&M: Seahawks nab TE prospect to help block and catch.
56. Green Bay Packers: Red Bryant, Texas A&M: Packers continue to bolster talented defense.
57. Miami Dolphins: Brandon Albert, OG, Virginia: 6’7” monster will be drafted on potential.
58. Jacksonville Jaguars: Adarius Bowman, WR, Oklahoma St: Bowman is a raw talent.
59. Indianapolis Colts: Matt Forte, RB, Tulane: Nice bruising back-up for Addai.
60. Green Bay Packers: Erin Henderson, LB, Maryland: The Pack grabs Henderson to solidify a nice front 7.
61. Dallas Cowboys: Donnie Avery, WR, Houston: Aging Owens and Glenn need help fast.
62. New England Patriots: Mike Hart, RB, Michigan: Belichick looks to get more solid production from his backs with this pick.
63. New York Giants, Simeon Castille, CB, Alabama: Giants nab high value prospect in this slot with lots of upside.
