1. Leodis McKelvin, 5’10”, 190, Troy: McKelvin dazzled scouts at the combine, increasing the likelihood he’ll be the first cornerback taken. He should easily be a top 10 pick after running a solid 4.38 forty yard dash and displaying a 33.5 inch vertical leap. His 17 reps of 225 lbs on the bench press show he has the kind of upper body strength necessary for man coverage in the NFL.
2. Aquib Talib, 6’0”, 202, Kansas: Talib ran faster than expected at the combine by posting a 4.47 forty. His physical size and ability as a return man make him the 2nd best CB prospect in the draft.
3. Mike Jenkins, 5’10”, 197, South Florida: Jenkins work at the combine helped him gain a bit of ground on Talib, but he didn’t quite do enough to overtake him for the #2 spot. Jenkins ran an impressive 4.38 forty and posted a vertical leap of 34 inches. His 18 reps on the bench press were impressive, too, but few scouts doubt Jenkins physical abilities.
4. Brandon Flowers, 5’9”, 189, Virginia Tech: Flowers looks so good on film that he’s able to stay up on our list despite a lackluster 4.55 in the forty.
5. Dominique Rogers-Cromartie, 6’1”, 184, Middle Tennessee State: Cromartie was the darling of the combine at this year’s NFL Combine. This small school wonder looked like Superman-in-the-making after running a mind-boggling 4.28 in the forty yard dash. His performance vaulted him to 1st round status for sure.

6. Patrick Lee, 6’0”, 200, Auburn: Lee possesses the speed (4.40) and body type scouts love. His play in the SEC won’t hurt him, either.
7. Antoine Cason, 6’0, 191, Arizona: Cason is a star at press coverage and ran a decent forty by posting a time of 4.49, but what really impressed scouts at the combine was his 35.5 inch vertical leap and the 20 reps he did on the 225 lb bench press.
8. Tracy Porter, 5’10”, 188, Indiana: Porter did well at the combine, but he didn’t do spectacular like some of the others. Still, his 4.37 forty keeps him in the conversation.
9. Justin King, 5’11”, 192, Penn State: A 4.40 forty and a 31 inch vertical leap helped Justin King inch up into our rankings. His Big 10 play was pretty good, too.
10. Reggie Smith, 6’0”, 199, Oklahoma: Smith is rated high as an overall prospect, but that has more to do with his ability to play safety. Still, he’s an intriguing prospect at corner even though he didn’t work out at the combine.
